A new project was launched on Saturday 15 October to improve a section of path within the park. Falkirk Community Trust and Falkirk parkrun have joined forces to work towards raising the monies needed to not only resurface the path but also install some distance markers for the popular parkrun.
We went along to the launch to help promote the project as well as to get active in the park and take part in the parkrun itself.
The weather on the morning was somewhat challenging to say the least with heavy rain and winds having us thinking we might be talking to ourselves about the project. So that being said a huge thumbs up should go to the 190 runners who braved the weather as well as the volunteers and marshals who organised the run with enthusiastic smiles on their faces.
Also a big thanks go the people who donated to the project once they had dried off. To date runners have donated over £2oo with the first £100 was matched pound for pound by the Coop and the project total now stands at just over £300!
