Join the Scottish Natural Heritage NNR team and others to celebrate Caerlaverock’s 60th Anniversary!
Take part in the free activities and find out about the history of this special place and the work we do with others.
There will be lots to do on the day, including:
Join a foraging walk with Mark Williams on the NNR;
Try out free high quality food including wildfowl, fish and venison at the Barbour Hall (all food will be sustainably harvested or hunted);
Enjoy nature and your surrounding in a whole new light with Artist Kenny Bean.
Craft activities for kids will also be on all day.
This event will be delivered with, and supported by, Caerlaverock Estate, Solway Firth Partnership, Wildfowl Wetlands Trust, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, Nith Haaf Netters Association, Caerlaverock Wildfowling Association, Dumfries and Galloway through the National Scenic Area, Caerlaverock Community Association and the Nith Inshore Rescue.
Directions: Glencaple is located on the north shore of the Solway Firth, South East of Dumfries. From Dumfries, take the B725 south to Glencaple/Bankend, following the east bank of the River Nith. From Annan – Gretna, turn left along the A75 towards Clarencefield then right onto the B725 before Ruthwell, following the road to Glencaple. Car parking facilities will be sign posted.
