Everyone who donated to the project was invited to the planting and along with members of the Playpark Association quick work was made of planting the initial 12 fruit trees. We are sure that the unrelenting rain along with the offer of hot soup, tea and cake helped.
Under the expert guidance of Richard Louth who talked everyone through not only how to plant the trees but also how to help them to flourish everyone got stuck in to the work at hand.
Due to the weather it was not possible to use the fantastic Central Scotland Green Network Plant a Mini Orhcard resources but all the kids who were helping out were keen when they got home to play the orchard anagram and maze games.
With the enthusiasm shown by the group in running their crowdfund and planting the trees we are sure they will flourish and look forward to seeing the fruit trees grow in this fantastic local park.
