This story is about: Peterson park, Glasgow
Shared by: Stuart Yeamans
This park was established as a memorial to A F Peterson the first Captain of the 76th Glasgow Company of the Boys’ Brigade. It consisted of two grass football pitches and a pavilion. Grass football pitches for amateur teams were then relatively rare and the pitches were extensively used by both the Boys’ Brigade and Church leagues.
The park was owned by the 76th BB until the 1960s when Glasgow Corporation took it over promising to keep the name.
