Park information

“Bonnyfield Nature Reserve is situated on the former Bonnyfield sand and gravel quarry just to the north of the Bonny Water and to the west of Duncan Stewart Park. It is a large area offering natural habitat to a wide range of plants and animals. One of the most important and unusual habitants is the Burnet Moth.

The Nature Reserve is a short walk from the John Muir Way. A 2.5km loop path leads you around the site with many shorter routes also available. There are plenty of benches if you want to have a rest and enjoy the natural surroundings as well as litterbins and dog fouling bins so that you can leave the nature reserve the way you found it.

The nature park contains a large colourful community mural created by Bonnybridge school children, cubs and scouts and the Nature Reserve management group. A bus service to and from Bonnyfield is available from Falkirk and surrounding areas. Questions or queries? contact Falkirk Council on 01324 504950 or planenv@falkirk.gov.uk
