Glasgow’s smallest and most urban LNR which has superb views from Hamiltonhill viewpoint over the whole of Glasgow.
On a clear day you can see the Isle of Arran 40 miles away! The clay from here made the water tight seal for the canal. The ‘borrow pit’ has since become a wetland area and willow scrub used by roe deer and waterfowl, just some of the wildlife to be attracted to this former industrial site.
