Known locally as Gala Park, a large town centre park on higher ground overlooking both Denny and Dunipace.
A dramatic stretch of the River Carron borders the park to the south. The park comprises; children’s play area, formal sports pitches; mixed woodland, grassy open spaces and a good footpath network. A large slope has been seeded with wildflowers. There are large areas for formal / informal recreation, and interesting landform with views and interpretation boards explaining local history. The Denny and Dunipace Gala Day is held on the last Bank Holiday weekend in May each year, with the Crowning Ceremony and funfair taking place in the park. Check the local press for details or search online or Facebook for CGI (Community Green Initiative). Herbertshire Castle Park is one of six local parks accorded “Queen Elizabeth Field” status by the charity “Fields In Trust” who work to safeguard open spaces for communities.
