Park information

Panoramic views can be had of the Firth of Forth from Quarrel Braes. The braes is an area of sloping grassland criss-crossed by paths. There are plenty of benches on the slopes. At the bottom of the Braes, beside the lifeboat station there is a small toddlers play area.

Toilets are located opposite 25 St James Place.

Kinghorn Harbour beach gained a Scotland’s Beach award in 2016.

Above the Braes is Kinghorn railway station.

Fife Coastal Path goes through the site.

There are two explanations for the name of the Braes, some say it was because of a battle fought between the Danes and the Scots another explanation is that there was a quarry at the bottom of the braes.
