Park information

Silver Sands and Hawkcraig Point is situated in the village of Aberdour and on Fife’s, Firth of Forth Coast. For centuries people from all over east central Scotland have been visiting the area for vacations and day trips.

The area contains a mixture of attractions including a beach, newly rebuilt cafe, summer attractions, woodland and headland, rocky coast. From the headland, panoramic views of the Firth of Forth can be seen, stretching from the bridges right to Edinburgh’s historic skyline. At Hawkcraig Point are the remains of a World War One sonar experimental station.

The area is well located and is only 12 minutes from junction 1 of the M90, and a train is close by too. The Fife Coastal Path, Scotland’s longest coastal path winds its way through the place.
The cafe looking on to the beach and sea is open every day. During the summer there are summer activities provided. Also during the summer, lifeguards keep a watchful eye out and have helped the beach be awarded Scotland’s Beach Award for quality beach management.
