Park information

Townhill Country Park comprises three parts, The Town Loch, The Village Park and Town Hill Wood.

Town Loch has a mile long path around the loch. It is a good place to see ducks, herons and at night bats. The loch is the national training site for waterski and waterboard Scotland. You can learn to waterskie or waterboard here. There is also a café here which is open Tuesday to Sunday between 10am and 4pm.

The Village Park contains a whole host of community facilities. Townhill Community Council have been instrumental in creating a miners memorial garden, cycle training area, edible garden and maintain a porta loo toilet. There is also a childrens play area, outdoor fitness equipment, multi-use games area, allotments and football pitches.

To the east of the village is Townhill Wood. There has been a wood here for centuries, the present day trees were planted between 1914 – 1939. The wood has a good network of paths. rk.
