Welcome to our Sponsorship Page for the donkeys at Muiravonside Farm. Our four stars came to us as rescues, and volunteers and staff on site now work hard to look after them and give them a better home. We need your help to fundraise for the cost of looking after the donkeys, feeding them, keeping them healthy and safe.
As a charity we need to raise donations to cover our running costs and we hope you will consider making a donation to help us look after four rescue donkeys. Our four stars all have cheeky personalities and volunteers and staff on site work hard to look after them and give them a better home.
We need your help to fundraise for the cost of looking after the donkeys, feeding them, keeping them healthy and safe. With your help we can give them a comfortable retirement after a really tough start in life.
Meet the donkeys...
Meet the Leader of the pack! Partlan is the darkest in colour and the cheekiest in character! The volunteers say he’s always the ring leader in any mischief that the Donkeys get up to. You can spot him by his wavy coat and the floppy ‘boy band’ fringe. He also has a lovely long mane. Maybe we should have called him Pantene not Partlan!
Partlan and Pearce are best buddies and Partlan does tend to lead Pearce astray so this pair can be a cheeky handful.
Five year old Pearce is very chilled out and laid back. If he wasn’t led astray by Partlan he’s definitely be the best behaved of our four donkeys, and he’s also the largest. Pearce only gets in bother when he helps Partlan steal the mucking out tools from the volunteers.
Pearce has a dark face with a totally black nose and zebra striped legs and in the morning he ‘sings’ for his breakfast.
Who wouldn’t love Birch? This five year old is the smallest of our donkeys and has the lightest coloured coat. Birch is always first to greet new volunteers and LOVES cuddles. One of his favourite tricks is to rest his head on anyone who will allow him. He's even been known to fall asleep on the farrier while his hooves are being looked after.
When the humans aren’t available to give him love and affection he hangs around with Harley who’s his best friend.
Say Hello to Harley, but say it quietly as he’s very very shy! This handsome eight year old donkey has a dark brown coat, with cute white smudges under his eyes and a light coloured muzzle. Harley adores kids and his best pal is Birch.
He’s easy for the volunteer team to manage as he is easily bribed with treats and never any trouble when his coat needs brushing.
You can donate via this page or you will soon be able to buy a £15 gift voucher to give to an animal lover in your life. The gift voucher comes with the offer of a ‘meet and eat’ session where the person can visit the donkeys at Muiravonside Country Park and feed them a carrot.

Gift Aid Declaration
Boost your donation by 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 donated.
Gift Aid is reclaimed by MyParkScotland from the tax you pay for the current year. Your address is needed to identify you as a UK taxpayer.
By choosing a donation level that includes Gift Aid you confirm that I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations it is my responsibility to pay any difference.
The additional funds generated through Gift Aid donations are invested in the park endowment fund which supports the long term management of our wonderful parks.
Please notify MyParkScotland if you:
- want to cancel this declaration
- change your name or home address
- no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains
If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code
MyParkScotland provides a safe and easy way to make a donation to support this great project.
To make a donation, click on ‘Support Now’ and select your choice of Gift Level. If you are a UK tax payer, selecting a Level which includes Gift Aid means that we can top up your donation at no extra cost to you. Adding Gift Aid typically means that your online donation of, for example, £10 becomes a park investment of £11.53 (after paying platform and management fees). You need to provide your address to enable us to claim Gift Aid.
Gift Aid is a Government scheme which allows charities to increase the value of donations made to them. Gift Aid makes a huge difference to small charities and local organisations, but if they aren’t registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator and HMRC, they can’t claim Gift Aid (and many that could claim Gift Aid don’t because they find the process too complicated). At MyParkScotland, we take care of the claim process on eligible donations, so that the Friends and community groups can concentrate on the great work they do in our parks.
We use PayPal to manage online donations and they charge a small platform fee for handling donations. We work hard to keep our fees as low as possible to make sure that as much of each donation as possible is invested in our parks. For donations without Gift Aid, at least 92% of your donation is invested in parks. MyParkScotland is a not-for-profit registered Scottish charity (No. SC045424) and any fees taken go towards covering essential operating costs.
You can find out more information about Gift Aid and MyParkScotland fees in the main Small Print section.
