A mini orchard will enhance the natural features of the park and an interesting and stimulating area for natural play.

Hayburn Playpark 2015 from MyParkScotland on Vimeo.

There’s something wonderful about biting into an apple fresh from the tree. And it’s even more special if it’s a tree you planted and watched grow.

At Hayburn Play Park we want to create a wonderful natural play environment for children. Our plans for a multi-purpose park developed from watching how children use the park. Seeing them play with leaves, stones and twigs shaped our plans to enhance the natural features and to create an interesting and stimulating environment for the children to enjoy. We want Hayburn to be multi-purpose park that encourages outdoor learning and activity, and promotes health and wellbeing for whole community.

We hope you will help us to raise funds to create a mini orchard. This will add variety to existing trees and planting, provide shade and shelter from rain, and a wonderful space for children to enjoy natural play. We’re looking forward to seeing the smiles as the children munch on their first apples.

We would love our mini-orchard supporters to join us for a wee celebration when the trees are planted.

Fabulous Support

We’ve less than £100 left to raise to reach our target!

That’s a great achievement in such a short space of time. It shows the commitment and cohesion of our local community, family and friends.

Well done, and a BIG Thank You to all who have offered their support.

Thanks to all those who have donated so far!

It’s great that people are getting involved to help make this project successful.
We really appreciate the support, and it’ll be great once we have lovely fruit trees and bushes for all to enjoy for years to come.

Jam making, anyone?

The small print – supporting a project

MyParkScotland provides a safe and easy way to make a donation to support this great project.

To make a donation, click on ‘Support Now’ and select your choice of Gift Level. If you are a UK tax payer, selecting a Level which includes Gift Aid means that we can top up your donation at no extra cost to you. Adding Gift Aid typically means that your online donation of, for example, £10 becomes a park investment of £11.53 (after paying platform and management fees). You need to provide your address to enable us to claim Gift Aid.

Gift Aid is a Government scheme which allows charities to increase the value of donations made to them. Gift Aid makes a huge difference to small charities and local organisations, but if they aren’t registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator and HMRC, they can’t claim Gift Aid (and many that could claim Gift Aid don’t because they find the process too complicated). At MyParkScotland, we take care of the claim process on eligible donations, so that the Friends and community groups can concentrate on the great work they do in our parks.

We use PayPal to manage online donations and they charge a small platform fee for handling donations. We work hard to keep our fees as low as possible to make sure that as much of each donation as possible is invested in our parks. For donations without Gift Aid, at least 92% of your donation is invested in parks. MyParkScotland is a not-for-profit registered Scottish charity (No. SC045424) and any fees taken go towards covering essential operating costs.

You can find out more information about Gift Aid and MyParkScotland fees in the main Small Print section.
